Therapy for Therapists

We are committed to the confidential care and compassionate support for therapist, pastors, pastors wives, and every other individual in the helping profession in need of additional support.

As therapists we often struggle to apply to our lives that which we give so freely to others.

Why is it that? What limits us from receiving the same help we freely give to others?

Daily we are able to encourage, express empathy, and speak truths for others yet we are unable to believe that for ourselves. We sit and hear someone else’s pain and encourage them but yet fail to do the same to ourselves. We are committed to helping others through their pain and believe in the restoration for their lives. But yet we struggle to believe the same in ours.

So often therapists, find themselves wondering how is it that I have the head knowledge, years of schooling but yet find myself struggling with applying the tools and truths I share with my clients daily. Whether it be a school counselor or a therapists we find ourselves having some of the same challenges are our clients. The difference is we aren’t always as compassionate to ourselves as we are with our clients. We expect more of ourselves and thus are harsher on ourselves.

As mental healthcare professionals we often struggle to express compassion and love to ourselves.

We have unrealistic expectations that somehow we arent supposed to be having similar struggles or symptoms as those we help. But we are still humans and we are not perfect. We are not exempt from the lies, trials, and attacks of the enemy. We are still targets like pastors, leaders, our family members and our clients.

We are still vulnerable to the lies in our heads, temptations of the world, and the attacks of the enemy.

Don’t believe the lie that somehow we don’t struggle because of the schooling, experience, or head knowledge we have.

As mental health care professionals we are often bigger targets because we are in the helping profession. And the enemy doesn’t want us to help others. He wants to keep us bound in his lies and alone.

But that is why it is extremely important to not do life alone. To not believe the lie that you don’t need help. Don’t believe the lie that you’re better than, and that you can figure things on your own.

It is critical to our well being that we seek help the same way our clients have. That by no means is a sign of weakness, but a sign of humility, strength, and courage to be able to recognize that we as therapists also need help. We need outside help because on our our own ability, we are left to destruction.

Pride goes before destruction… Proverbs 16:18

God wants us all to walk in the freedom, healing, and restoration that he has for our lives, as well as our families and our ministry.

Regardless how your story began or the path that you’re currently on, God wants you to be healed and restored walking in His freedom. Why? So that then you can help those around you and those that he has called you to help can also be blessed through your work and ministry.

And that is why at New Beginnings Christian Counseling we are committed to the confidential care and compassionate support for therapist, pastors, pastors wives, and every other individual in the helping profession in need of additional support.

We want you to know that you are not alone. We to have been there and some of us may be having the same difficulties and challenges you’re currently having. Thus, we stand by what we speak and that is why we find it extremely beneficial to seek our own individual help.

All of our providers at New Beginnings Christian Counseling either have their own therapist currently or have had hours of personal psychotherapy prior. Why? Because just like you we have a story, and have had to work through our own stuff to move towards freedom.

Again we are not perfect no matter how perfect we may look on the outside ;)

Remember that no one is perfect. Don’t believe the lie that something is wrong with you. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you! You have been created in the image of God and His likeness. You have been perfectly made. And God loves you!
